The USAID Southern Africa Trade and Investment Hub has formalized a Trade Promotion Services Provider (TPSP) agreement with the Malawi Investment and Trade Centre (MITC). The agreement cements the existing working relationship between the USAID TradeHub and MITC in the development and promotion of exports from Malawi to South Africa and the United States. MITC co-chairs the Malawi African Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA) National Steering Committee, which was established with USAID TradeHub support. The TPSP agreement will facilitate the USAID TradeHub’s transfer of export development tools to MITC, which is a go-to partner for private sector development in Malawi. This activity aligns with the USAID TradeHub’s objective of working with TPSPs to develop the capacity of export firms to meet South African and U.S. market requirements. The MITC has participated in USAID TradeHub-organized webinars on exporting to the United States as well as advised on the development of a forthcoming USAID TradeHub AGOA toolkit.
