The USAID Southern Africa Trade and Investment Hub boosts trade and investment with and within Southern Africa.

During the week of April 18, 2022, Botswana-based sauce producer Maungo Craft’s hot marula sauces became “live” on the Amazon platform. The USAID Southern Africa Trade and Investment Hub (USAID TradeHub) supported the successful entry of the firm’s products into the United States. The USAID TradeHub provided market entry guidance and paid the firm’s e-commerce management fee of $5,000 to Albert Scott, a U.S.-based e-commerce management firm and trade promotion service provider (TPSP) that assists exporters to trade their products on Amazon. In February 2022, Maungo Craft, sent its first consignment of 600 bottles of hot marula sauces to the United States under the African Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA). The shipment send-off event on the was attended by the USAID/Botswana representative, Anne Dix.
